Geneva certainly isn't the type of woman to have a one-night stand. And if she did, it definitely wouldn't be with an uptight businessman like Brad. But when she finds herself in close quarters with the man, she can't help but tease him, and herself, to the point of desperately needing to spend the night together. One night. That's what she wants. That's what they agree upon. But one night can leave a craving for more-
Excerpt:Chapter 1
"It's the least you could do."
Geneva Bryce almost ignored her sister's whine but knew it wouldn't stop there.
"No," Geneva corrected. "The least I could do is nothing. Which is what I'm going to do." She signed the requisition form and placed it on the stack of outgoing mail. As always, her desk was tidy and organized. The only disruptive force was Jessie.
"But you owe me," Jessie insisted.
Geneva lowered her pen and looked over the top of her glasses. "How do you figure that?"
"I covered for you the night you snuck out to lose your virginity."
Geneva's jaw dropped open. "That was thirteen years ago."
"Still, I covered for you and you never paid me back."
"I helped you graduate from college."
Jessie shrugged. "I guess, but this is really important."
The wheedling tone in Jessie's voice ground on Geneva's already strained nerves. If I give in now, the whining might stay at a tolerable level.
"I don't understand how this is going to help," she said shaking her head.
"Wilson's brother hates me." Jessie's lower lip curled into what Geneva supposed was an adorable pout. But after watching Jessie pout for twenty-two years, it was no longer adorable. Geneva raised her eyebrows in silent question. "His brother thinks I'm a bimbo."
And where would he get that idea? Geneva kept that comment to herself.
"So, Wilson says we can't go out anymore." Fat, fake tears pooled in Jessie's eyes. "You just have to help me."
Geneva sighed. "What do I have to do?"
Jessie's tears disappeared as quickly as they'd formed. Not a single one had escaped. No reason to risk the mascara. "It's simple. You'll go on a date with Wilson and meet his brother. After Bradford-"
"Wilson and Bradford? Who would torture children like that?"
"They're family names. Anyway, you act like a complete bimbo, and then when Bradford sees how dumb you are, I'll seem perfectly fine to him and he'll give Wilson his blessing."
Geneva shook her head as her sister's words finally penetrated. "You want me to act like a ditz so that you'll seem normal?"
"Exactly."
Geneva couldn't resist glancing at the diplomas on her wall. The top one declared her Geneva Bryce, Ph.D.
"I'm not that good of an actress."
